YSTUDIO met Turkish artist Gül İlkbahar of Rose Studio 2019 at the 2024 Tokyo International Pen Show, sparking a cross-cultural collaboration between Taiwan and Turkey.
Inspired by the Turkish Nazar (Blue Eye) talisman, Gül hand-paints each Classic Rollerball Pen with airy colors and delicate brushstrokes, turning every pen into a unique work of art.
The first release features 10 limited-edition hand-painted rollerball pens in Black and White.

Rose Studio 2019 artist, Gül İlkbahar
Rose Studio 2019 is an artistic brand founded by Istanbul-based artist Gül İlkbahar. Her work began with hand-painting a fountain pen for her husband, transforming writing instruments into expressive canvases. Inspired by nature, she brings delicate details and warmth to each handcrafted piece. Her pens have been showcased at international pen shows across the U.S., Europe, and Japan, creating collectible works that blend fine art, craftsmanship, and storytelling.

USE & CARE
The paint will gradually wear off during daily use, revealing the brass underneath which we called "brassing effect". You can create a personalized brassing effect by removing the paint on the surface with sandpaper which is included in the product's package.
